The model for the movie "FRANK", or rather the mask used, is FRANK SIDEBOTTOM, a comedy character created by Chris Sievey, a member of Manchester punk band The Freshies, which debuted in 1978, and who also released a solo album, after the band broke up and became an alternative stand-up comedian.
