=BACK IN= California duo FOXYGEN's debut album by Jonathan Rado and Sam France. This feeling that never becomes nostalgia while being a direct descendant of early 70's rock such as the Rolling Stones. Maybe it's a talent that surpasses MGMT and THE GIRLS. RICHARD SWIFT is in charge of MIX.[Read More]

=BACK IN= -LTD. DELUXE PINK COLORED VINYL. Inc. A BONUS DISC OF DEMO TRACKS. 2-disc pink vinyl edition with limited bonus and demo collection vinyl- Declaring disbandment due to disagreement in 2015 & while doing a dissolution tour 2017, the previous work, produced an album that I thought was the last as "a full-fledged studio album". And two years after I thought I wouldn't do it anymore, the current strongest charlatan pop duo FOXYGEN, who say they've made an even more serious studio album, will release their 2019 album. Jonathan Rado, who produced two major new-generation break-pop bands, WHITNEY and LEMON TWIGS, and Sam France, whose charisma continues to increase, are not easy to deal with....[Read More]

SHINY JOE RYAN, a member of the brilliant Australian band POND, has released his solo album in 2021. Just like POND, which is becoming more and more perverted while remaining popular, "I'm Singing A New Song" is the opening song. The song "Ketamine" has perverted lyrics, but the backing musicians are Jay Watson and James Ireland, both members of POND, and mastering is done by Kevin Parker, lead singer of TAME IMPALA, who is an old friend of his. The song has the same vibe as Billy Joel and Todd Rundgren from the early 70s, and more recently FOXYGEN. Of course, this is a collection of 12 songs that combine the craftsmanship of soft singer-songwriter pop with POND, but without the lines that would appeal to pseudo-experts, making it a cont...[Read More]

In 2018, RICHARD SWIFT, who was a former member of The SHINS and was active with FOXYGEN, KEVIN MORBY and GUSTER's producer, suddenly passed away from alcohol poisoning. From his own studio, he seems to have sent joke songs to friends frequently when they arrived at work and opened his mailbox. "KFC" Neta's song, a crazy psychedelic groove with scatological spoke words recorded at the same session as the 2011 "Walt Wolfman" EP. The B-side is "A Man's Man", an unreleased song recorded during the 2008 "Richard Swift As Onasis" sessions.[Read More]

=BACK IN= New York duo PURR by Eliza Callahan and Jack Staffen, 1st album in 2020 from Anti-, who has recently released a series of new hits. Produced by WEYES BLOOD, ALEX CAMERON, and JONATHAN RADO of FOXYGEN who works with LEMON TWIGS and WHITNEY. What this PURR gives him is greater than his job. I can't think of a momentary record with such an explosive sense even in the last 10 years. Without them, they would just be stubborn old men, but in their case, that is outstanding. As you can see from Lemon Twigs and WHITNEY, the influence of the 70's often depends on their musical ability (but that is also the law of hits), but in their case, there is no retro feeling, no projectile feeling, and even more expert feeling. If it's goin...[Read More]

Vocalist Lila Ramani is (was?) a member of STADING ON THE CORNER, a collective that is said to have the strongest ability to transmit information from the underground to the majors in the current New York culture. We can feel the true beginning of the 2020s after the pandemic. The important thing is whether or not you can discover this work by CRUMB in a different aspect from the world, and it is a part that will affect future youth culture and even mass culture as a result of subculture. While hybridizing SORRY and KING KRULE across the sea from EARL SWEATSHIRT to ONYX COLLECTIVE and later STADING ON THE CORNER sense, it is extremely important that it was presented as a guitar band that is clear above all. Perfect counter. However, it i...[Read More]
