Big Joanie, a new female trio that transcends the unique black DIY community in London, is splitting with CHARMPIT, another band by Estella Adeyeri of the legendary US alternative/indie label Kill Rock Stars, on Specialist Subject Records. Released a 7-inch. The girls, who are all love calls from various rock, youth and multinational culture masters such as JACK WHITE and THURSTON MOORE, have a raw sound that goes beyond black feminist punk. Limited edition clear vinyl edition that doesn't play.
